Once a court orders something for someone to do (pay child support, for example), or not to do something (take the children out of state, for example), and the person under orders violates those orders, a Contempt action can be filed to enforce the court order. The person who was ordered to do or not to do something and failed to follow the court orders, is in contempt of court. A motion for contempt can be brought against the person.
